How To Achieve Your Moonshot
What's your moon shot for the second half of 2023? I'm talking about the one big thing you're going to tackle this year. I originally wrote this post in December 2022 and I am revisiting the concept for the second half of 2023.
In 1961, for President Kennedy, it was challenging the United States to get on board with putting a man on the moon.
In 2015, then Vice President Biden talked about a moonshot to cure cancer.
When you think of 2023, what is your personal moon shot?
How about for your team or organization? And if you knew that no matter what, you wouldn't fail, what would you do?
The reality is that we are limited by time and resources. And where you focus your effort matters. Not only is the timing of your moon shot important, so is the way you go about completing it.
Ask yourself:
What is your moon shot?
What success looks like?
The benefits of your moon shot?, and
How does your moon shot impact those around you?

Remember, your moon shot isn't supposed to be easy; it should be big and challenging. And the important thing to think about right now is the actions you can take to get that momentum going. I'm talking about the first step on the journey to make your moonshot a reality.
Three Possible Moonshot Thought Starters:
1. Launch a Global Impact Initiative: Imagine if your firm had the audacity to tackle a pressing global issue that aligns with your values and expertise. This moonshot could involve leveraging your creative skills to address sustainability challenges, promote social justice, support greater civil discourse or advocate for equal access to education.
2. Pioneer Industry Disruption: What if your firm became the catalyst for disrupting the traditional models and practices in your industry? Embrace the moonshot of reinventing the way professional services are delivered, pushing boundaries, and challenging the status quo.
3. Create a Transformational Learning Platform: Imagine if your firm's expertise and knowledge were not limited to your clients but extended to aspiring professionals and the wider community. By envisioning a moonshot of creating a transformational learning platform, you can develop and share valuable resources, courses, and mentorship programs that empower individuals to unleash their creative potential and thrive in their own professional journeys. Through this platform, you can inspire and mentor the next generation of creative professionals, making a lasting impact on the industry as a whole and create a pipeline of talent.
